I don’t believe people should fit into a particular method.
I believe each person has their own way of healing.
Some need structure. Some need imagination. Some need to revisit the past. Some need to discover a different future.
The methods are simply colours.
Together, we find the ones that help your story emerge.
Because healing isn’t about applying the same technique to everyone.
It’s about meeting the unique person in front of you.
The toolbox is large. The approach is intuitive.
The journey is yours.

I don’t fit people into methods.
I let methods serve the person.

REFLECTION
hypnotherapie-emdr.amsterdam
There is actually a movement within psychotherapy toward integration and away from rigid allegiance to a single school.
Many EMDR clinicians, for example, talk about expanding their “toolbox” and combining approaches to fit the client rather than the other way around.

What I particularly like is that the metaphor does several jobs at once:
🖍️ we hope to communicates flexibility: the client isn’t being squeezed into a protocol.
🖍️ And it fits the aesthetic of Positive Illness, where creativity and healing aren’t opposites.
This page doesn’t primarily explain a treatment modality—it explains my way of working.
People often choose therapists less because of the modality than because of a felt sense of the person behind it.
Research on the therapeutic alliance consistently finds that the quality of the relationship is a major contributor to outcomes, across different schools of therapy.
